Storing files in Oernoe Drive

Oernoe Drive is encrypted file storage. Documents, photos, uploads, folders. Personal and team. On drive.oernoe.com you upload, organize, share with links that can expire, and audit how much space you are using. It sits next to Docs, which creates Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation work that saves into Drive. Drive is not a claim that Oernoe rebranded someone else’s entire office suite. It is storage with privacy-minded defaults and visible controls.

## What the live UI shows

The tour reached drive.oernoe.com and landed on a Drive workspace. Navigation included Search Drive, New, Upload, Home, My Drive, Shared with me, Recent, Starred, and Trash. The empty state said nothing here yet — create a folder, a document, or drop files. Storage showed 0.00 GB of about 2.00 GB used, with controls to get more storage, free space, and manage storage. Filters by type included All types, Folders, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations, and Uploaded files. Sort options covered newest, oldest, name, and size. List and grid views were available.

Those filter labels match Docs’ creation cards. Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation are Oernoe names for work that lives in Drive. Uploaded files covers the ordinary binaries you drag in. Folders are folders. Use the labels you see. Do not translate them into Google Sheets or Google Slides.

## Upload, folders, and encryption

How-To describes drag-and-drop for files or directory trees. Files are chunked and encrypted at rest with AES-256 before persistence. Transit uses TLS 1.3. The cloud security guide adds HSTS, modern cipher suites only, Secure/HttpOnly/SameSite cookie flags for sessions, and hierarchical key scoping so a single file-key problem does not unlock the multi-tenant fabric. AES-256-GCM provides confidentiality and integrity checks on stored chunks.

That is serious storage hygiene. It is still not a magic invisibility cloak. Operational logs for abuse and uptime may exist as Privacy describes. Drive contents are not an advertising file. Drive does not load AdSense into the file manager. Selected www educational pages may show ads; that is a different hostname with a different job.

## Sharing files without turning links into permanent public dumps

Create expiring download links. Where the product offers them, set bandwidth or download-count limits and optional passphrase protection. Capability tokens with TTL windows are the engineering phrase for “this link should die when you said it should.” Passphrases add a second factor for people who receive the URL. When the share is done, expire it. When a file should leave the shared set, revoke access rather than hoping nobody bookmarked the path.

Shared with me, Recent, and Starred exist so collaboration does not depend on digging through someone else’s mental map of folder names. Trash is a holding area; purge when you mean permanent delete. Storage auditing by type — archives, documents, media — helps you see what is consuming quota without guessing.

## How Drive relates to Docs, Chat, AI, and Health

Docs creates Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation items that save into Drive. Drive organizes and stores them alongside uploads. Chat can attach files within documented size limits; that is messaging, not a substitute for Drive folders. AI — Noevik on ai.oernoe.com — may help you draft text you later store as a Document; do not treat the AI thread as your archive. Health holds wellness metrics and notes in its own workspace; do not dump clinical-adjacent material into a broadly shared Drive link and call it privacy.

www explains Drive. Drive stores files. Account unlocks. Search finds public web pages, not your private Drive objects. Tracker is a personal life tracker on the live UI, not an ops console for Drive uptime — write support if Drive misbehaves.

## Account, quota, and exit

You need an account to use Drive as storage. Signup at account.oernoe.com stays free at the core with no credit card on the form. SSO should carry sessions across live hosts. Auth screens do not load ads. Enable TOTP. Inspect sessions. Age rules apply.

The empty-state tour showed about 2 GB. Get more storage, if offered, must be labeled if it costs money. Free core access and labeled premium are the funding lanes that keep Drive out of a data-broker story. Publisher ads on selected www pages are a third lane that does not scan your files for targeting.

Export and deletion paths exist through account settings and privacy@oernoe.com. Write from the account address. Name Drive. Say whether you want export, correction, deletion, or restriction. Deletion cannot be undone after confirmation. Some truncated security or billing records may remain where law requires. Deletion does not erase a third-party web page in Search, and it does not erase Google’s copy of an ad request from a www article you opened.

## What Drive is not

Drive is not Mail. Mail has not shipped. Drive is not Maps, Music, Studio, News, or OerAlerts. Drive is not a full desktop Office replacement. Drive is not Google Drive under a coat of paint, and its Document / Spreadsheet / Presentation filters are not Google Sheets or Google Slides. Drive is not an ads surface. Drive is not a medical archive that replaces clinicians — Health already refuses that clinical claim for its own workspace.

## Everyday patterns that stay honest

Photo backup pattern: upload, put albums in folders, share a passphrase-protected link with expiry for family, revoke when the weekend ends.

Project pattern: keep Docs-created Spreadsheets and Documents in a project folder, star the active ones, trash drafts you mean to kill, purge trash later.

Handoff pattern: export a PDF from Docs when a counterparty needs a frozen copy; keep the editable Document in Drive with edit limited to your team.

Incident pattern: if upload fails, note time and browser, write support@oernoe.com with hostname drive.oernoe.com, never with passwords. If you suspect account abuse, rotate credentials first.

We will not invent “petabytes protected” theater. We will not claim the network is ad-free. We will not claim Drive scanned zero bytes of metadata for operations. We will claim encrypted storage, typed filters that match Docs, share links with expiry and optional passphrase, quota you can see, free core access, and a hard separation from Search query advertising and from publisher AdSense units.

Storing files in Oernoe Drive means treating drive.oernoe.com as live encrypted storage for documents, photos, and files — including Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations created in Docs — with user control over sharing and exit. Keep the labels Oernoe’s. Keep the shares temporary when they should be. Keep the publisher ads on www where they belong.

## Folders, stars, trash, and the boring joy of order

New folder is how projects start. Starred is how you keep the active set small. Recent is how you return without remembering paths. Trash is forgiveness; purge is finality. Shared with me is the inbound side of collaboration. Home and My Drive are the spine. None of these need marketing poetry. They need to work.

Search Drive is for filename and title lookup inside your store. It is not Oernoe Search. It will not find the public web. It should not leak your private filenames into a publisher ad system. Keep that distinction when you talk about “search” casually.

List versus grid is preference. Sort by newest when you are mid-project. Sort by size when you are freeing quota. Filter to Uploaded files when you are hunting a photo. Filter to Spreadsheets when you need the budget file Docs created.

## Sharing scenarios that deserve explicit settings

Contractor handoff: create a folder, put the Documents and Presentations inside, share with expiry on the calendar end date, passphrase if the URL may travel through another ticketing system, download limits if the files are large.

Family photos: upload, folder by event, share a short TTL link, revoke after the reunion. EXIF hygiene is more of a Chat story when images move through messaging; for Drive, still think about who receives the link.

Legal-ish packet: prefer export to PDF from Docs, store the PDF in Drive, share read-only, keep the editable Document narrower. Drive links are not a courtroom. They are a delivery path.

When a share should end, end it. TTL is a gift. Use it.

## Quota, premium, and refusing dark patterns

About 2 GB on the empty-state tour is enough for serious personal work and early team use. It is not infinite. Free space and manage storage exist so you can delete before you buy. If Get more storage becomes a paid path, it must be labeled. Privacy language is not a substitute for a price label. Credit cards do not belong on signup for core access.

We will not shame users with fake urgency. We will not scan file bodies for ad targeting. We will not pretend publisher AdSense on www is funding Drive by reading your folders.

## Failure modes and support

Upload failures: note browser, file size, time, hostname drive.oernoe.com, write support@oernoe.com.

Missing files: check Trash, Shared with me, filters, and whether you are in the right account session.

Unexpected shares: inspect sharing settings, expire links, rotate password, enable TOTP, write support if sessions look wrong.

Privacy exit: export first if you need your bytes, then delete with open eyes. Deletion confirms once. Some legal or security crumbs may remain as Privacy states. That is not an advertising profile.

## Drive in the independent map

Drive is live. Docs is live. Chat, AI (Noevik), Search, Health, Tracker, Account, and www are live with different jobs. Mail is not. Maps, Music, Studio, News, OerAlerts are not How-To. Tracker is a personal life tracker on the live UI, not Drive’s status page. If Drive is down, write support — do not look for an ops dashboard inside Tracker.

Storing files in Oernoe Drive is encrypted storage with Oernoe type filters, share TTL, optional passphrase, visible quota, and a hard line against turning private objects into ad inventory. Keep using the labels on the screen. Keep shares finite. Keep exits real. That is enough for an honest storage product.

## Cross-device reality without native tracker packages

Drive is a progressive web app meant for current desktop and mobile browsers. You can add it to a home screen. That does not install a separate native tracking package by default. Feature layout can differ on small screens; file gaps as bugs. Uploads on flaky mobile networks fail sometimes — retry, then write support with time and size if it keeps failing.

Signed-in sessions should follow you across Docs and Drive through Account SSO. If you find yourself signing in twice every hop, that is a bug. If you find a session on a device you do not recognize, revoke it and rotate credentials before you upload anything sensitive.

Independence, again, is free core storage within quota, labeled expansion if you buy more, no brokerage of file bodies, and publisher ads confined to selected www pages. Drive stays a file product. Keep it that way in copy and in code.
