Search queries and Google ads on Oernoe

People mix these up, including us in older homepage copy. This is the split that has to stay true if we show ads at all.

Updated 24 August 2026

Oernoe runs a search engine and a publisher website. They are easy to mash into one sentence about privacy. That mash is how you get a homepage that says “zero tracking” while the same company is applying for AdSense. We are not doing that anymore.

This page is for anyone who lands here from an ads review, a privacy question, or a Search result. It is not a pitch to click an ad. It is a map of two systems that share an operator, Anoepal, and that must not share an advertising file of your queries.

What Search is allowed to mean

Oernoe Search is at search.oernoe.com. You type a query. You get links. The product promise we will stand behind is this: we do not use that query history to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell account or search data to advertisers for their own marketing.

Search still sees ordinary request data needed to return a page: the query, the fact that a browser asked, technical logs for abuse and uptime. That is not the same as an ad graph. If we cannot keep those apart in code, we should not keep the sentence on the site.

Search also lets people add public people and company listings, with an approval step you can see in the product. That is an index of the public web and of listings people chose to submit. It is not a way to open Health notes, Chat threads, Drive files, or account settings.

The longer ranking write-up is How Oernoe Search works. Use that page if you want crawl, index, and rank. Use this page if you want advertising.

What this website is allowed to show

www.oernoe.com is the public publisher site. Selected finished pages may load Google AdSense. Today that means this guide, How-To, How Search works, What we publish, Using an Oernoe account, the four rewritten journal URLs under /blog, and database journal articles that still pass the originality and length checks.

Ads stay off Home, About, Team, Contact, editorial standards, the guides index, legal pages, login, signup, password reset, the journal listing at /blog, error pages, and the apps themselves: Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, and Tracker.

When ads load, we ask for non-personalized ads by default. Google may still process page context, cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser and device data, and ad interaction data. That is in the Privacy Policy in the same words Google requires, including Ads Settings and www.aboutads.info.

ads.txt at the site root names publisher ID pub-9477175344230263. Pages also carry a google-adsense-account meta tag so Google can verify the site even when the homepage has no ad units. robots.txt allows Mediapartners-Google and Google-Display-Ads-Bot so an ads crawler can see the same writing a person sees.

Placement rules we actually enforce

Google’s publisher policies care about where units sit, not only whether a script tag exists. We keep a site-wide navigation bar. Ads are not the menu. Ads are not download buttons. Ads are not mixed into login fields. We do not run pop-ups that cover the article before you can read it. The cookie bar is a notice with Privacy, Cookies, Ads Settings, and OK. It is not a fake consent wall.

If you move from an eligible article to About or Home, leftover Auto ads are supposed to disappear. That is a client-side guard, not a promise that Google never requested a unit on the previous page. The honest check is: view-source on How-To should include the AdSense client; view-source on About should not.

We do not ask anyone to click an ad. We do not pay for clicks. We do not label a unit as a “helpful link.” If a unit ever looks like navigation, that is a bug, and it should be reported to support@oernoe.com.

What we will not claim

  • We will not say the whole Oernoe network has no ads, no cookies, and no third parties.
  • We will not say Google ads on this site are “not tracking” just because they are requested as non-personalized.
  • We will not put ads on Chat, Drive, Docs, Health, or other private product surfaces. Those are not publisher pages.
  • We will not dress ads up as navigation, and we will not run ads on pages that are only a teaser or a slogan.

If you are in Europe

This site’s own cookie bar is a notice. It is not a consent management platform. For visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Google Privacy & messaging in the AdSense account is what can show a consent message. Until that consent exists where the law requires it, ads stay non-personalized. If that Google product is not enabled in the account, we should not pretend the site invented a CMP.

The Cookie Policy lists essential cookies for running the site, and advertising cookies that Google may set on eligible publisher pages. Rejecting optional advertising through Google’s tools does not break login or the article text.

How to check us

Open view-source on a How-To or guide URL and look for the AdSense client ca-pub-9477175344230263. Open Home or About and confirm the script is missing. Open /ads.txt. Open Privacy section 4. Open /blog and confirm it is a list of finished articles, not a wall of “coming soon.” If those checks fail after a deploy, this guide is wrong and should be corrected the same day.

If you are a reviewer looking for original writing, start here, then How Search works, What we publish, Using an account, How-To, and the journal pieces that are actually listed. Do not treat an old promotional URL as the site. Those URLs can still resolve for old links. They are noindexed, they are not in the sitemap, and they do not load ads.
