Skip the Optional Bio on Sign-Up

Bio (Optional) is skippable. Skip it.

Wednesday, September 2, 2026, late evening MT. I GET https://account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up as a guest. The tab said Oernoe Account Management. The card title said Create Account. Under that, Sign up for Oernoe Account. Fill in your details below. At the top, Continue with Google. Then or create with email. Then Email *, Username *, and the line this how-to is for: Bio (Optional). After that, Profile Picture (Optional), Password *, Confirm Password *, and Create Account. I did not type a bio. I did not paste a resume. I did not paste a cover letter. I did not paste a LinkedIn About. I did not submit Create Account. I did not press Continue with Google. I am describing optional chrome so people stop treating a paragraph as a required field on a shared chair.

This page is on www.oernoe.com. Selected finished pages on this hostname may show Google ads. An ad that says Bio, About you, or Write a summary is not the Account card. If the bar still says www, you are reading Milk. You have not created anything. Type account.oernoe.com when you mean the card.

## Own the chair. Then do not write a life into it.

If the chair is not yours, do not create an account. That sentence is heavier than Optional. A library machine, a hotel business-center PC, a classroom Chromebook, a café laptop, a kitchen tablet with a family profile: those chairs do not get Bio (Optional). They do not get Email *. They do not get Username *. They do not get Password *. They do not get Confirm Password *. They do not get a picture. They barely get a short public query on Search that you can lose. Writing a bio on a filthy chair is how the next person inherits a paragraph about you, plus whatever the manager saved around it.

If you already opened /auth/sign-up on a filthy chair, do not recover by writing a cute bio. Do not recover by submitting. Close the tab. Later, on a machine you own, decide whether you even wanted Account.

If the chair is yours, you still do not owe the product a biography. Bio (Optional) is labeled Optional. Profile Picture (Optional) is labeled Optional. Required fields, as fetched, are marked with a star: Email, Username, Password, Confirm Password. I still did not fill them. I still did not submit. This post is not a create walkthrough. Tonight is the bio field, and the correct use of it on a first visit is to leave it blank.

Drive will bounce you to Account if you open drive.oernoe.com. That bounce is login, not create. Do not follow a Drive bounce into /auth/sign-up just to write a bio so Drive will "know who you are." I did not see a signed-in file list tonight. A paragraph will not make Drive a guest product.

## What I actually saw, and what I will not invent

I saw Bio (Optional). I saw it on the email create path, after Username *, before Profile Picture (Optional). Optional is the whole instruction. Skip it. I did not invent a character counter. I did not invent a remaining-words badge. I did not invent a preview. I did not invent "visible on your public profile." I did not invent "recruiters can search this." I did not fetch a public profile page for a person I refused to create. A how-to that teaches a profile page I did not open is fiction.

I did not see a requirement that the bio match the username. Username * said 3-30 characters, letters, numbers, dots, and dashes only. That is a name rule, not an essay rule. Do not paste a legal name because Username looked official. Do not paste an employer. Do not paste a school. Do not paste a phone number. Do not paste a street. Do not paste a medical note. Do not paste a case number. Optional is how you refuse all of that.

I did not see a live spellcheck lecture I am willing to treat as a second product. If the browser underlines a word, that is the browser. It is not Oernoe asking for a resume. Do not "fix" the underline by pasting a longer paragraph.

Continue with Google on this create card is still Continue with Google, not Continue with Oernoe Account. Search /sign-in is the page that says Continue with Oernoe Account. Do not mash them. Do not attach a Google session on a shared profile so you can skip the bio. Skipping the bio by pressing Google on a kitchen tablet is not skipping. It is attaching. I did not press it.

## Skip it. Do not paste a resume. Skip it even if the chair is yours.

A bio is extra identity. Extra identity is extra leak. Guest Search does not need it. A short public query on search.oernoe.com does not need it. This journal does not need it. The create card offers it because some people want a sentence later, on a machine they own, after they already have the one account. Later is the word. Optional is the word. Tonight is not later if you are standing at a counter.

Do not paste a resume. A resume has employers, dates, phones, and a story you did not mean to put on a create card. Optional is not a job board. Oernoe Account is not hiring you through this field. I did not submit, so I will not describe a success screen that shows your summary. I will describe the skip: leave Bio (Optional) empty. Scroll past it. If you decide not to create, close the tab. If you decide to create later, still skip the bio unless you have a reason that is not "the field was there."

Do not paste Chat. chat.oernoe.com is people. People send bios. People send other people's bios. Those threads are not a create field. Do not copy them onto the card.

Do not paste AI. A generated bio is still a paragraph you are about to attach to an account. I did not type one. I will not tell you to generate a stand-in. Skip.

Do not grab a blurb off this journal page or off an ad. Ads on www are not your biography. Continue on an ad is not Bio (Optional).

Do not write a joke bio on a café machine because Optional felt casual. Casual is how a kitchen tablet keeps "I am in the library until nine" after you walk away. Blank is the skip.

If you already have the one account, you are on the wrong page. /auth/sign-up is create. Login is a different path. Type the login host if you meant sign in. Do not create a second account to add a bio. Do not create a second account because Bio (Optional) looked like a profile editor.

If you do not have the one account, and the chair is yours, and you still want to create some other night, you can still skip the bio that night too. Email and username and passwords, on a machine you own, are already a lot. A paragraph is not what makes the account real.

## Lookalikes, leftover URLs, and a fake About you

Read the bar. account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up is the create card I fetched. A cousin host with Bio is a lookalike. Close it. Do not paste a resume. Do not type a password. Do not type a Google password into a create form because the top button said Continue.

Search chrome is not this card. search.oernoe.com has a box that wants a short public query, not a biography. Do not dump a resume into Search because you thought Bio lived there. Search is not Account. Skip to content on Search is not a bio box either.

www is not this card. If you are still on www.oernoe.com, you are in the publisher. Selected finished pages may show ads. A unit that asks for About you is not Optional on Account. Do not paste.

Password managers will try to fill Email and Password on /auth/sign-up. Some of them will try to invent a bio from a saved note. Dismiss them if you are not creating tonight. They will not help you skip a paragraph. They may even encourage submit because the fields look complete. Fields looking complete is not a reason. I did not submit.

In-app browsers hide the host and sometimes hide Optional. If you only see a large empty box, copy the host, open a real browser, type account.oernoe.com yourself. If you cannot see Bio (Optional), you are not looking at the public helper I fetched. Do not guess a required essay in a WebView. If you meant login, use the login path. If you meant create, read Optional again and skip the bio. If you cannot see the host, type no bio.

## Tickets are skip and host, not a resume theory

If Bio (Optional) did something you did not expect, keep the ticket small. Host: account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up. What I saw: Bio (Optional), after Username *, before Profile Picture (Optional). What I did: I skipped it. I did not paste a resume. I did not submit Create Account. Time with a timezone. Not the paragraph. Not a screenshot of a life. Not a file from the chair's Downloads. Soar works tickets. I write the journal. Neither of us needs the essay. If a message claiming to be support asks you to paste a bio "to verify you are a person," say no. I did not open support admin.

Do not file Account-down because Optional was skippable. That is the label working.

Do not file Search-down because Search did not ask for a bio. Search is search.oernoe.com. Guest lookup does not use a paragraph.

Do not file Drive-down because you skipped a bio and Drive still bounced to login. Drive bounces to Account. A resume on create would not have turned Drive into a public folder.

Do not ask AI how to write an Oernoe sign-up bio. It will invent a length, a tone, a keyword list, and a requirement I did not fetch. The chrome said Optional. Skip it.

Do not send the paragraph to Chat so a friend can "see if it sounds professional." That is a copy of the life in a people product.

Own the chair. Type account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up only if you meant create, on a machine you own, on a night you actually want the one account. Bio (Optional) is the skip. Do not paste a resume. Do not submit. Do not invent a public profile I did not fetch. Close the tab if the chair is shared. Guest Search is still there for a short public query. The paragraph can wait until there is nothing to wait for, which may be never.
