People mash “privacy search” and “publisher ads” into one sentence and decide one of them must be fake. Sometimes that decision is fair. We earned the skepticism with older homepage copy that talked as if the whole Oernoe network had no ads and no third parties. Then www.oernoe.com applied for Google AdSense. Both facts cannot live inside a network-wide promise that nothing is tracked and nothing is monetized with ads. We stopped pretending they could.

This essay is the boundary as it has to stay true if we show ads at all. Oernoe Search lives at search.oernoe.com. The publisher lives at www.oernoe.com. Anoepal operates both. Shared operator is not shared advertising file. If that sentence ever stops being true in code, the public sentence has to come down the same day.

## What Search is allowed to mean

You type a query. You get links. The product promise we will stand behind is narrow and checkable: we do not use that query history to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell account or search data to advertisers for their own marketing. Search still sees ordinary request data needed to return a page: the query, the fact that a browser asked, technical logs for abuse and uptime. That is not an ad graph. Confusing logs with profiles is how privacy writing turns into slogans.

Search also lets people add public people and company listings, with an approval step you can see in the product. That is an index of the public web and of listings people chose to submit. It is not a way to open Health notes, Chat threads, Drive files, or account settings. The longer ranking write-up is How Oernoe Search works. Use that page for crawl, index, and rank. Use this essay when the question is advertising.

OernoeBot crawls under robots.txt rules, including crawl-delay and disallow paths. It deduplicates canonical URLs and follows redirect chains carefully. It indexes public document text and hyperlinked relationships. It should not scrape private directories or harvest personal addresses for marketing databases. Polite rate limits exist so origin servers are not crushed. None of that requires building a behavioral dossier for advertisers.

Ranking draws on document quality, structure, citations, freshness, and related structural signals — not on a private dossier of your past clicks sold to a third party. Outbound result clicks can send a referrer policy that avoids handing the destination your query string. That is a Search privacy choice. It is not a claim that www never monetizes documentation.

## What www is allowed to show

www.oernoe.com is the public publisher site. Selected finished pages may load Google AdSense under publisher ID pub-9477175344230263, published in ads.txt. Today that means finished How-To; finished guides such as How Search works, Search queries and Google ads, Using an account, What we publish, Which hostname does what, Corrections, How a privacy request is handled; rewritten journal URLs that still pass checks; and database journal articles that still pass originality and length checks.

Ads stay off Home, About, Team, Contact, editorial standards, the guides index, legal pages, login, signup, password reset, the journal listing at /blog, error pages, and the apps themselves: Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Tracker, and Account. When ads load, we ask for non-personalized ads by default. Google may still process page context, cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser and device data, and ad interaction data. Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy say that in the form Google’s disclosures require, including Ads Settings and the industry opt-out pages.

Pages also carry a google-adsense-account meta tag so Google can verify the site even when the homepage has no ad units. robots.txt allows Mediapartners-Google and Google-Display-Ads-Bot so an ads crawler can see the same writing a person sees. That is ordinary publisher hygiene, not a secret profiling feature on Search.

## The sentence that has to stay boring

Search queries typed into Search are not an input to those AdSense units. Concepts explored in Oernoe AI are not fed into advertising profile databases either. Chat payloads are not monitored for targeted marketing. Drive and Docs stores are not ad inventory. Health notes are personal wellness records, not clinic data and not marketing segments. The funding lane for documentation is contextual publisher advertising on selected www pages. The funding lane for optional power features is labeled premium. The free core lane stays free without a credit card on signup.

Anoepal’s job, as About frames it, is financial autonomy without predatory user-data monetization. That phrase is operational: keep Search out of the ad file, keep product stores out of the ad file, and let the publisher earn on pages that are actually documents.

## Why “zero tracking” failed as a network slogan

Older homepage and product copy talked as if the whole network had no ads, no cookies, and no third parties. That was false once the publisher applied for AdSense. Corrections lists the mistake. Search still does not use queries as an advertising file. Selected finished www pages may show Google ads, and Google may process page context on those pages. Both sentences have to be true at once. A slogan that collapses them into “zero tracking everywhere” teaches reviewers to distrust every other privacy claim on the site.

We keep banned network-wide phrases out of this rebuild because reviewers and users both read them as promises that cover Search, Chat, Drive, and www in one breath. The true pair is longer and uglier, which is usually a good sign in privacy writing.

## What Search may still log without becoming ads

Technical logs for abuse, uptime, and reliability are not a license to sell intent. Privacy Policy describes ordinary technical and security information: IP address, browser and device type, request time, requested page, referring page, diagnostic events. We use that information to deliver pages, protect accounts, prevent abuse, investigate failures, and maintain reliability. We do not sell account information or search history. We do not provide account or search data to advertisers for their own direct marketing.

If a security log retains a query string for a limited purpose, that is still not an advertising file. An advertising file is a dossier built to target or sell attention. Capacity planning that counts anonymized token or latency statistics on AI, as the AI privacy guide describes, is likewise not an ad graph. The test is purpose and downstream use, not the mere existence of a log line.

## How a reviewer should test the claim

Open search.oernoe.com and confirm you are not looking at AdSense units dressed up as organic results. Open an eligible long guide on www and accept that an ad may appear. Open Home, About, and login and confirm the script stays off. Read ads.txt. Read Search queries and Google ads. Read Privacy. If those pages disagree with the live UI, the UI or the page is wrong — write hello@oernoe.com with the URL.

Do not treat AdSense eligibility as proof that Search is compromised. Do not treat Search privacy as proof that www never monetizes documentation. Those are the two failure modes this essay exists to prevent.

## Listings, indexes, and what is not in the file

Public listings you submit to Search are not Health notes. They are public by design once approved. Indexing a third-party article that mentions a name is not the same as holding that person’s account data. A privacy request about an account cannot unwind every public page on the web. Copyright claims have their own DMCA track. Mixing these jobs creates fake contradictions about “the advertising file.”

Oernoe AI’s privacy architecture adds another separation: prompts are processed with a zero model re-training guarantee described in the AI guide, and AI surfaces do not load advertising scripts. That does not make www ad-free. It makes the product host a product host.

## Free core, premium, and publisher ads are three lanes

Basic accounts and primary tools — Search, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Health, and Tracker — are free to use without a credit card on signup. Tracker, in the live UI, is a personal life tracker (habits, check-ins, focus), not an ops status page. If advanced tools, expanded storage, or power features carry a price, the price has to be labeled. Payment details, when a paid feature is offered, may be handled by a payment provider. That is ordinary commerce, not a license to sell Search history.

Publisher ads fund educational pages that survive originality and length checks. Thin SEO journal posts are bad inventory even when the word count looks fine. What we publish is the recovery rule after low-value content failed a publisher review. Ads do not rescue a brochure.

## What this essay refuses

It refuses fake user counts. It refuses promising that www will never show ads anywhere. It refuses waitlists that collect personal data for unreleased software. It refuses treating Mail, Maps, Music, Studio, News, or OerAlerts as live How-To products. It refuses mixing Account cookies with advertising identifiers in public copy as if they were one system.

It also refuses the lazy opposite error: claiming that because www shows ads, Search must be selling queries. Shared operator is not shared advertising file. Keep saying it until it is boring. Boring boundaries are the ones that survive a review.

## If you still hate the split

Use the apps. They do not load AdSense. Use Home, About, Team, Contact, and legal pages. They do not load AdSense. If you read long guides and journal essays on www, you may see contextual ads. Manage Google choices through Ads Settings. File account privacy requests at privacy@oernoe.com. Ask funding questions at partnerships@oernoe.com or info@oernoe.com. Ask product bugs at support@oernoe.com.

The split is the product. Search queries are not an advertising file. Selected www pages may show Google ads. Hold both without a slogan that lies, and Oernoe can keep a search engine and a publisher under one operator without pretending they are the same machine.

## How ordinary request data differs from a profile

A profile, in the sense advertisers buy, is a durable dossier: interests inferred across sessions, segments shared with brokers, retargeting keys that follow a person from site to site. Ordinary request data is what any server sees when a browser asks for a page: that a query arrived, that a response went out, that an IP address and user agent showed up in a log line used for abuse control. Privacy Policy already lists those technical fields. The difference is purpose and downstream use. Capacity planning is allowed. Selling intent is not. If we ever blur those purposes in production, the public promise has to shrink the same day — not three product cycles later after a marketing review.

Users sometimes ask whether “we saw the query to return results” secretly means “we kept the query forever.” Retention is not the same as advertising. Security retention, when it exists, is described in Privacy and is not a side door into AdSense. An export of account data will not read like a complete diary of every search you typed, and that is intentional. Padding an export with guesses helps nobody.

## Operator discipline beats slogan discipline

Anoepal can fund infrastructure with publisher ads, labeled premium, and ordinary company revenue without wiring Search into the ad stack. Infrastructure cost is real. Cost pressure is not a moral permission slip. Independent crawling, application servers, and storage cost money whether or not www shows an ad. Cross-subsidy from documentation ads to keep Search online is ordinary company finance. Cross-wiring query strings into AdSense is not. Support staff answering privacy@oernoe.com should be able to say that without checking a deck first.

The journal’s job in this rebuild is to make the boundary boring enough that a reviewer stops hunting for a gotcha and starts checking the allowlist. Boring is success. Drama is usually a sign we are about to overclaim.

## A closing test you can run without trusting us

Type a harmless query on Search. Note the absence of AdSense chrome in the results UI. Open a long finished guide on www. Accept that an ad may appear. Open About. Confirm the script is gone. Open ads.txt at the site root. Skim Search queries and Google ads. If those steps produce a coherent picture, the advertising file claim is false. If they do not, write hello@oernoe.com with the mismatched URL. We would rather fix a page than win an argument with a slogan.
