www.oernoe.com and the product apps share a brand and an operator. They do not share a job. Mixing them is how you get a homepage that promises “zero tracking” while the same company applies for AdSense, or a journal post that talks as if Chat threads live inside a blog CMS. This essay is the split as the Oernoe Editorial Team keeps it: publisher on www, products on their own hosts, Account as the door between them.

Anoepal operates both sides. Independent technology company is the frame. Privacy still matters. Funding still exists. Those facts only stay honest if the hostnames stay distinct.

## What www is allowed to be

www is the public publisher and documentation hub. It holds the engineering journal, technical guides, How-To tutorials, leadership and company pages, and the legal compliance library. A stranger should learn what is live, what is not, how Search relates to ads, how to create an account, and how to reach support without inventing a chat widget that does not exist.

You can read About, Team, Contact, guides, and journal essays without signing in. Sign In and Create Account send you to account.oernoe.com. That is navigation, not a paywall on documentation.

Selected finished educational pages may load Google AdSense. Eligible inventory includes finished How-To, finished guides such as How Search works, Search queries and Google ads, Using an account, What we publish, Which hostname does what, Corrections, How a privacy request is handled, and journal articles that still pass originality and length checks. By default we request non-personalized ads. Google may still process page context, cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser and device data, and ad interaction data. Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy say so in the form Google’s disclosures require.

Ads stay off Home, About, Team, Contact, editorial standards, legal pages, the journal listing at /blog, the guides index, login, signup, password reset, error pages, and — critically — the product apps themselves. Placement rules keep ads out of menus, login fields, and download buttons. We do not run pop-ups that cover an article before you can read it. The cookie bar is a notice with Privacy, Cookies, Ads Settings, and OK. It is not a fake consent wall.

www does not process private user documents, chat streams, or personal search history as product storage. If you write a Doc, that content belongs on docs.oernoe.com. If you upload a photo, that object belongs on drive.oernoe.com. If you send a Chat message, that thread belongs on chat.oernoe.com. The publisher can describe those products. It should not pretend to host their private payloads.

What we publish is the recovery rule after an AdSense rejection for low-value content. The fix was a smaller, stricter public index: original writing about products we actually run, help pages, and legal record — not generic SEO outlines, not “coming soon” stubs, not slogans about being the safest platform of the year. Thin pages can remain at old URLs for link stability with noindex, but they leave the journal listing and do not load ads.

## What the product apps are allowed to be

Product apps live on dedicated hosts:

search.oernoe.com returns web results without using queries as an advertising profile and without loading AdSense into the Search UI.

chat.oernoe.com is private messaging with transit encryption, optional ephemeral retention, and EXIF scrubbing on uploads. Message content is not ad inventory.

ai.oernoe.com is a conversational assistant whose prompts are not retained for foundational model training. No publisher ads on the AI surface.

docs.oernoe.com is collaborative work with visible sharing; dashboard cards labeled Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation; Markdown and math support; export to common formats; work saved to Drive — Oernoe labels, not Google Sheets or Google Slides.

drive.oernoe.com is encrypted file storage for documents, photos, and files with folders and share links — not a full office suite claim.

health.oernoe.com is a private wellness notes and metrics workspace with a hard non-clinical disclaimer.

tracker.oernoe.com is a personal life tracker — habits, homework, check-ins, focus, and related personal logs on the live UI.

account.oernoe.com authenticates you into those apps. Auth screens load no advertising scripts. One account is supposed to open the seven live product hosts. Free core access means no credit card on signup; labeled premium only if a paid feature exists.

These surfaces are progressive web apps. They are where stored work lives. They are where privacy controls for that work live. They are not where we place AdSense units next to a compose box.

## Shared operator, separated advertising file

The easy mistake is to say “Oernoe is private” as if every hostname obeyed the same sentence. Search’s promise is about queries. AI’s promise is about training retention. Docs and Drive promises are about encryption and visible sharing. www’s honesty is about disclosing ads on selected educational pages without claiming the network is ad-free.

Search queries typed into Search are not an input to AdSense units on www. If that boundary fails in code, the public sentence has to come down the same day. Technical logs for abuse and uptime on Search are still not an advertising dossier. Google’s processing on an eligible www article is still not a license to profile Search.

ads.txt at the www root names publisher ID pub-9477175344230263. Product apps do not become inventory because the publisher ID exists. Login never shows ads. Search never shows ads. That exclusion list is a product choice, not a moral trophy.

## How a reader should move between them

Start on www to learn. Use How-To for steps. Use guides for architecture and policy-shaped explanations. Create an account when you need to store work. Open the product host for the job: Search for links, Chat for messages, AI for assistance, Docs for Document / Spreadsheet / Presentation work, Drive for files, Health for wellness metrics and notes, Tracker for personal habits and focus logs.

If something feels off in a product, write support with the hostname — Tracker is a personal life tracker, not an ops status board. If you need an export or deletion, use account settings or privacy@oernoe.com from the address on the account. If you need an editorial correction on www, write hello@oernoe.com with the URL. If you need a product bug fixed, write support@oernoe.com with browser, time, and hostname — never with a password.

Do not expect www comments under articles. We do not run unmoderated comment sections. Mail goes to Contact inboxes until moderation can be staffed. Slower. Less spam magnet.

## What this split refuses

It refuses treating Mail, Maps, Music, Studio, News, or OerAlerts as live How-To on either side. Mail is upcoming status only. It refuses calling the publisher an app shell. It refuses calling the apps a blog. It refuses network-wide ad-free language. It refuses inventing user counts. It refuses calling Docs Google Sheets or Google Slides; Oernoe’s own Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation labels are enough. It refuses claiming Drive replaces every desktop office tool.

www explains. Apps store and compute. Account unlocks. Search finds. Ads, when they appear, appear on selected finished www pages — not on the tools that hold your private work. That is how www differs from the product apps, and why the difference has to stay boringly explicit.
## Concrete examples of the boundary

If you are reading this journal essay, you are on the publisher hostname. The page may be eligible for AdSense if it meets originality and length checks and is not on the exclusion list. Your Chat history is not stored in this HTML document. Closing the tab does not delete a Drive folder. Signing out of Account does not remove a public guide from the web.

If you open search.oernoe.com and type a query, you are using the search engine. No AdSense unit should appear beside the results. The query should not become an advertising profile. Clicking a result should not leak the query string through Referer to the destination site. Bookmarking a result, when you are signed in, saves a preference you chose — not a hidden dossier we invent from browsing you never agreed to sell.

If you open docs.oernoe.com, you are in the collaborative Docs product. The dashboard shows Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation cards — Oernoe’s labels. Sharing permissions should be visible. Export should give you PDF, Markdown, HTML, or plain text without pretending vendor lock-in is a feature. Do not call those cards Google Sheets or Google Slides.

If you open drive.oernoe.com, you are in encrypted file storage. Upload, folders, share links with expiry and optional passphrase, trash, usage audit. That is the job. Calling it a full office suite would be false even if Docs sits nearby.

If you open ai.oernoe.com, you are in a conversational assistant. Prompts are not training fodder for foundational models. Ads should not load in the prompt window. You still must not paste production secrets. Verification of outputs remains your responsibility.

If you open chat.oernoe.com, you are messaging people, not publishing a journal post. Retention rules and EXIF scrubbing matter there. Ad targeting of message bodies does not.

If you open health.oernoe.com, you are organizing personal wellness notes and metrics. Clinical diagnosis is out of scope. Export exists for your archive. Ads do not belong on that workspace.

If you open tracker.oernoe.com, you are in a personal life tracker — Today, Habits, Homework, Check-ins, Focus, and related views. It is not an ops status page and not ad inventory.

## Editorial and support paths stay on www’s terms

Public writing is issued as Oernoe Editorial Team unless a named byline is intentional. Corrections are listed rather than silently rewritten. Contact inboxes are human. We do not run article comments. That choice keeps www from becoming unmoderated UGC while we lack moderation staff. It also keeps the publisher’s quality problem from becoming someone else’s spam problem under every essay.

Product bugs still go to support@oernoe.com with hostname named. Privacy requests go to privacy@oernoe.com from the account address. Mixing those inboxes slows everyone down. Mixing host jobs does the same thing at architectural scale.

## Independence without collapsing the map

Independence means free core tools, labeled premium if it appears, no data brokerage of Search queries or private product stores, and a publisher that can fund educational pages without lying about the network. It does not mean www is identical to Search. It does not mean the apps are identical to the journal. It does not mean Mail is live. It does not mean Maps, Music, Studio, News, or OerAlerts are How-To.

Keep the map boring. www explains and sometimes shows ads on finished educational pages. Product apps hold work and do not load those ads. Account unlocks. Search finds without selling the query. That is the difference, repeated until it sticks.

## One more pass at the funding and privacy sentences

On www, selected finished educational pages may show Google AdSense with non-personalized requests by default. On Search, queries are not sold and not turned into ad profiles. On product apps, private stores stay out of AdSense. Saying those three sentences in one breath is allowed. Smushing them into “Oernoe is ad-free” or “Oernoe tracks nothing” is not. The hostname map exists so you can keep the sentences apart when a reviewer asks which URL you meant.
