How an Oernoe privacy request is handled

The short version is on the guide. This is the same process with the failure cases we actually see.

Updated 26 August 2026 · Oernoe Editorial Team

People write privacy@oernoe.com as if it were a magic undo for the internet. It is not. It is the inbox for the account Anoepal holds so Oernoe can run. The step-by-step lives at How a privacy request is handled at Oernoe. This journal page exists because the same questions arrive as stories, not as checklists, and because a publisher that talks about privacy without describing its own request desk is performing.

Write from the email on the account. Say whether you want an export, a deletion, a correction, or a restriction. Deletion cannot be undone. We confirm once. Do not send a password.

Failure case: the mail is from a different address

If you write from Gmail about an account that lives on a school inbox, we cannot tell it is you. We will ask you to write from the account email, or to describe a fact we can check without a passport scan. That delay is annoying. The alternative is handing an export to the wrong person. We will take the delay.

Failure case: “delete me from search”

Oernoe Search indexes public web pages and approved listings. Deleting your Oernoe account does not unpublish a newspaper article, a court record, or a page you do not control. For a listing you submitted, say so. For a listing someone else submitted about you, send the result URL. For copyright, use the DMCA process. Mixing those into one paragraph is how the reply takes longer.

Failure case: ads on a publisher page

Eligible www.oernoe.com pages may load Google AdSense. We can delete the account we hold. We cannot reach into Google and erase a prior ad request. Ads Settings, the Cookie Policy, and the industry opt-outs are the tools that exist. Search queries are not supposed to be in that ad file. If you have evidence that a product host loaded an ad unit, that is a bug for support@oernoe.com, not a deletion of Chat.

Failure case: Health notes versus Search history

Health notes are content you stored in a product. Chat threads are the same class. Search request logs, where they exist for abuse and uptime, are not a diary we can print on demand, and they are not an advertising profile. If we cannot produce a category, we will say so. Padding an export with a guess would be a different kind of lie.

Name the hostname if you can. It changes which pile we look in. The map is Which Oernoe hostname does what.

What “small team” means for timing

There is no overnight privacy desk. A complete request should get an acknowledgement in a few working days. Statutory clocks, where they apply, are in the Privacy Policy. We will not invent a faster number on this page to sound like a department we do not have. If the product has to change before we can complete the request, the reply should say that in plain language.

Angel Mejia Rodriguez is still the named person behind Anoepal. That does not mean every privacy mail is answered by the founder on the first pass. It does mean the desk is not a vendor in another country with a script that closes tickets. If that ever changes, Privacy has to change first, then this article.

Premium features, when they exist, are labeled. A deletion does not automatically unwind a charge you already authorized. If billing is involved, say so in the mail so we do not treat it as a simple content wipe. We would rather ask one extra question than delete the wrong object.

Why this is in the journal

Help pages can read like policy. Journal pages are where we admit the messy cases. Both should agree. If they drift, the legal page wins until we fix the journal. That rule is in the editorial standards. It exists because we already shipped copy that promised more privacy than the ads on this hostname could support. The corrections list is public. This request desk is part of the same cleanup.
