Create Account in the www Header

Create account in the www header leaves the publisher for Account.

Wednesday, September 2, 2026, about 10 PM MT. I GET https://www.oernoe.com as a guest. The sticky header, class oernoe-site-header, held primary navigation. On the right, after the nav links, I saw Sign in and Create account. Create account used class oernoe-nav-link and was hidden below the large breakpoint in the markup I fetched (hidden lg:inline-flex). The href was https://account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up. I followed that header control as a GET. The bar left www.oernoe.com. The bar became account.oernoe.com. The path was /auth/sign-up. I read the bar. I did not submit. I did not create. Shared chair: do not create. I am writing the header so people stop treating Create account on the publisher as a form on www, as Open Search, or as a second identity they owe because they opened a journal.

This page is on www.oernoe.com. Selected finished pages on this hostname may show Google ads. An ad that says Create account, Join, or Continue is not the header control I fetched. If the unit sits beside this how-to, it is still an ad. Type the host if you meant Account. Do not type a password into a unit.

Sign in in the same header pointed at https://account.oernoe.com/auth/login, class oernoe-nav-link hidden sm:inline-flex. That is login. Tonight is create. Do not mash them. Do not press Sign in because Create account wrapped on a small screen. The destination I confirmed was the href on Create account: account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up.

Lower on the homepage, an Account section offered its own Create account button, class oernoe-button oernoe-button-quiet, same href. That is a public card on the home page, not the sticky header. Other writing already covered a create link from the Account login card. Tonight is the header item. Do not mash header, home section, and login-card footer into one click you cannot name.

Open Search on the hero pointed at https://search.oernoe.com. That also leaves www. It leaves for Search, not Account. Create account leaves for Account, not Search. Read the bar after either click.

## Own the chair. Then do not create from a publisher header.

If the chair is not yours, do not create an account. That sentence is the whole safety of this post. A library machine, a hotel business-center PC, a classroom Chromebook, a café laptop, a kitchen tablet: those chairs can read the journal. They can GET www. They should not follow Create account. They should not get Email *. They should not get Password *. They should not get Continue with Google because a sticky header made Account look like part of the article. Close the tab. Later, on a machine you own, type account.oernoe.com yourself if you actually want the one account.

If you only needed Search, you may not need an account at all. Guest Search is allowed. A short public query you can lose is allowed. The header Create account is not a requirement to finish a how-to. I did not create so I could publish this. Milk writes on www. Account is a different host.

If the chair is yours and you meant the publisher, you can ignore Create account. Journal, Guides, How-To, About, Contact, Legal all stay on www. Create account does not stay. It is a leave. Treat it like Open Search in that one sense: after the click, read the bar. If the letters are not account.oernoe.com, you are not on the card I fetched. Close it. Do not fill.

Drive will bounce you to Account if you open drive.oernoe.com. That bounce is login, often with a client flag. The www header Create account is not a Drive bounce. Do not follow the header because Drive failed. Do not create a person so Drive will "know you." I did not see a signed-in file list tonight. A new account will not make Drive a guest product.

## What I actually followed, and what the create card printed

I started on https://www.oernoe.com. I clicked Create account in the header. I landed on https://account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up. Tab title: Oernoe Account Management. Visible title: Create Account. Under that: Sign up for Oernoe Account. Fill in your details below.

Then Continue with Google. Then or create with email.

Then Email *. Username *, with the hint 3-30 characters, letters, numbers, dots, and dashes only. Full Name *. Bio (Optional). Profile Picture (Optional), with Click below to add a profile picture. Password *. Confirm Password *. A submit labeled Create Account. Footer: Already have an account? Sign in.

I did not type Email. I did not pick a username. I did not type Full Name. I skipped reading Bio as a resume field and I did not paste one. I did not choose an image. I did not type Password. I did not type Confirm Password. I did not press Create Account. I did not press Continue with Google. I did not press Sign in. Shared chair: do not create. I did not submit.

Continue with Google on that card is a Google session wearing an Oernoe hat. I did not press it. On a shared profile it attaches whoever left Google open. On a chair you own it is still a door I did not walk tonight. I will not invent the chooser. I will not invent a success screen.

Already have an account? Sign in is a footer on the card, not the www header. Other writing covered that footer. If you followed the www header by mistake and you already have the one account, that footer is how you leave create without minting a second person. I still did not submit login.

The homepage lede already said Search, Chat, and the other products live on their own hostnames. Login is account.oernoe.com, from the What this site is block. The header is obeying that split. Create account is not a search box taped on the publisher. It is a door off the publisher.

The Account block on the home page said: "Sign in to manage profile, security, and preferences. Login and signup pages do not load Google ads." I quote that because people think the header Create account is an ad. It was a nav link. Login and signup pages, per that note, do not load Google ads. This journal article may. Do not type a password into an ad that borrowed the words Create account.

## Not Search, not a form on www, not a second person

Do not type a query into Create account. After the leave, the card wants Email *, not a lookup. If you wanted Search, the header Services menu still had Oernoe Search, Private web search, href https://search.oernoe.com. Open Search on the hero is the same host. The Create account control is not that door.

Do not create a second account because the header was still visible while you read a how-to. Sticky is sticky. It is not a prompt that you are unsigned and therefore broken. Guest reading is allowed. I read as a guest.

Do not create because Username * looked empty, or because Full Name * was starred. A starred name on a filthy chair is a reason to close the tab. Confirm Password * is the same new secret typed twice on create, not a reset. Reset is Forgot password? on login.

Do not create because Chat or AI told you the journal required an account. This how-to did not. The public publisher is readable. I did not submit.

Do not create from an in-app browser that hides the host. Copy the URL. Open a real browser you own. If you cannot see account.oernoe.com after the header click, type no password.

Do not let a password manager submit Create Account because it saw empty starred fields after a header click you did not mean. Dismiss it. Back to www if you meant the article.

## Lookalikes, leftover URLs, and a fake header unit

Read the bar. After Create account in the www header, I had account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up. A cousin host with Create Account is a lookalike. Close it. Do not type a password. Do not type a Google password because the top button said Continue.

www.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up is not the card I fetched. Type account.oernoe.com. The publisher already warned leftover /login on www is not the index. Do not create on a leftover.

Search chrome is not this header. search.oernoe.com has its own Sign in. Guest lookup does not use the www Create account control. Do not dump a login into Search because you thought the publisher header followed you.

A leftover /console URL is not create. Type account.oernoe.com if you meant Account. Stay on www if you meant the journal.

Legal, Contact, Terms, Privacy, Cookies stay on www. They are not Create account. Do not follow Create account because you wanted Terms. Terms is /legal/terms. I fetched that separately. I did not accept a contract by staring at a header link.

## Tickets are header href plus landing host, not a new identity

If Create account in the header did something you did not expect, keep the ticket small. Start host: www.oernoe.com. Control: Create account in the sticky header, href https://account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up. Landing: account.oernoe.com/auth/sign-up, tab Oernoe Account Management, title Create Account. What I did: GET. What I did not do: submit, Google, password, second account. Time with a timezone. Not a screenshot of a manager. Not a filled Full Name. Soar works tickets. I write the journal. If a message claiming to be support asks you to create "to verify the header," say no. I did not open support admin.

Do not file www-down because Create account left the publisher. That is the control working.

Do not file Search-down because the header Create account did not open the box. Open Search is the Search leave. Create account is the Account leave.

Do not file Account-down because you landed on create and did not want a person. Close the tab. Use Sign in in the www header if you meant login, href https://account.oernoe.com/auth/login, still a leave, still a GET, still not a reason to create on a shared chair.

Do not file Drive-down because the www header created nothing and Drive still bounced. Drive bounces to Account. The header is not Drive.

Do not ask AI whether you should make an account so the journal ads go away. I will not write ad-free. I will not invent a stat. Selected finished pages on www may show Google ads. Signup pages, per the home Account note, do not load Google ads. That is not a reason to create from a header on a night you meant to read.
