Account hub, Profile, and Security controls you can open

Account hub opens Profile and Security today. Settings redirects to Profile. Two-factor showed Status: Off with setup actions available; no security switches were flipped on the tour.

Oernoe Account at account.oernoe.com is the unified account hub for live product hosts. A signed-in deep tour on 17–18 September 2026 opened Hub, Profile, and Security, noted other sidebar labels, and observed that a direct visit to /account/settings redirected to /account/profile. No profile values were copied. No security action was taken. No password was changed. This essay teaches the controls you can open and the ones that stay disabled until prerequisites exist. Author voice is the Oernoe Editorial Team. No personal identifiers. No credential material.

Account is where identity and session safety live. It is not Search. It is not Docs. It is not a place to paste backup codes into a journal.

## Hub navigation labels from the tour

Sidebar and hub navigation included Hub, Profile, Friends, Billing, Quick Codes, Security, Login methods, Search History, Settings, Account Policy, Background, and Logout. Hub showed Friends, Requests, and Blocked counters plus empty Recent Friends and Pending Requests regions.

Those counters matter for Chat and any future social surfaces. Empty recent lists are normal on a quiet account. Logout is the shared-computer finish line — use it.

Settings appears in the sidebar, but the tour’s direct /account/settings visit redirected to /account/profile. Sidebar still listed Settings. No separate settings sections could be verified. Teach that quirk. Do not invent a Settings page layout the redirect prevented us from seeing.

## Profile controls you can open

Profile headed Manage your account information and personal details. Controls included Profile Picture with Change Picture, 3D Avatar with text that the editor is in development or coming soon, and fields Email address, Username, Full Name, and Bio with Maximum 500 characters. Save Changes was present.

The tour copied no field values and saved nothing. That is intentional. Journals should not republish usernames or addresses from tour sessions.

Change Picture is the avatar photo path. 3D Avatar is explicitly unfinished — coming soon / in development language on the tour. Do not promise a live 3D editor. Bio’s 500-character maximum is a hard limit to respect. Save Changes commits profile edits when you mean them; do not tap it while demonstrating.

Username rules published elsewhere on the network include length and character constraints; this essay will not invent a different rule set. If Save Changes rejects a username, read the error and adjust rather than hammering the button.

## Security controls you can open

Security offered Change password with new and confirm fields and a disabled Change password button until inputs qualify. Sign out of all devices was available as a session-wide logout tool. Two-factor authentication showed Status: Off, 0 verified factors, Authenticator with Set up, Passkey with Add passkey, Email code with Send test code, Backup codes 0/10 unused, disabled Generate new codes, and disabled Turn 2FA on. Keep your account safe appeared as framing copy.

No security action was taken on the tour. The disabled buttons are the lesson: Turn 2FA on stays disabled until factors exist. Generate new codes stays disabled while Backup codes show 0/10 unused. Set up Authenticator first. Add a passkey if you want phishing-resistant login on supporting devices. Only then expect Turn 2FA on and backup-code generation to become meaningful.

Change password stays disabled without valid new and confirm values. Use a password manager. Prefer long unique passwords. Never put the new password in Chat, Docs, or a journal draft.

Sign out of all devices is the incident button when a laptop is lost or a session looks wrong. Use it, then sign in fresh on hardware you trust, then review Security again.

Send test code under Email code is a verification affordance. The tour did not send one. If you send a test, watch only your own inbox and never forward codes to support.

## What Login methods, Billing, and other labels imply

Login methods, Billing, Quick Codes, Search History, Account Policy, and Background were visible as navigation. The tour did not deep-dive each page. Do not invent billing invoices or Quick Codes semantics beyond acknowledging the labels exist. Search History is where Search activity may surface for your account — open it only on your own session. Account Policy is policy text; read it when you need rules, not when you need a password reset.

Friends on Account hub aligns with Chat’s Friends and Requests story. Blocked counters give you a place to expect blocks to matter network-wide. The tour left those lists empty.

## Settings redirect and how to teach it

If you bookmark /account/settings and land on Profile, you are seeing the same redirect the tour saw. Use Profile for profile fields. Use Security for password and 2FA. Do not tell users a detailed Settings grid exists until a tour opens one. Sidebar labels can lead product development; they are not proof of a finished page.

## How Account unlocks the rest of the live map

Search, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Tracker, and Health entry points depend on account sessions for signed-in work. Health’s tour stayed on the landing with Sign In and Create Account as buttons only. Docs saved Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation files into Drive under about 2 GB quota with Share coming soon. AI’s Noevik test prompt produced no visible reply. Tracker check-in hit permission denied. Chat’s New Chat flow stopped before contacting strangers. Search results showed All, Websites, Knowledge, Filters, and an idle Generate overview control. Mail has not shipped.

Account Security is the common floor under all of that. Weak passwords undermine every host.

## Practical hardening order

Open Security.

Set up Authenticator when you are ready for two-factor.

Confirm Status leaves Off only when you intend it to.

Add passkey if your devices support it.

Generate backup codes when the button enables; store them offline, not only in Drive next to a password note.

Use Sign out of all devices after suspicious activity.

Change password when rotating credentials, with the manager filling both fields so the button enables.

Open Profile only to fix picture, name, or bio you mean to change; leave Save Changes untouched otherwise.

Prefer Logout on shared computers every time.

## Privacy and support

Profile and Security data are account data. They are not AdSense input. Account UI should not load AdSense. Selected finished www pages may. Search queries are not sold as advertising profiles. For privacy export or deletion, write privacy@oernoe.com from the account address. For product bugs — including the Settings redirect — write support@oernoe.com with time and browser. Never send passwords, backup codes, or one-time codes to hello@oernoe.com, support@oernoe.com, or privacy@oernoe.com.

You must be at least thirteen; under eighteen needs a parent or guardian under published account rules.

## Publisher funding boundary

www.oernoe.com is the publisher hub. ads.txt names pub-9477175344230263. Selected finished Guides, How-To, and journal essays may load Google AdSense with non-personalized requests by default. Home, About, Team, Contact, legal, journal listing, guides index, login, signup, and product apps including Account are in the exclusion set. Older network-wide ad-free claims were false once AdSense entered. Corrections already said so.

## Editorial close

Account hub gives you Profile and Security screens you can open today, Friends and related counters on Hub, a sidebar that still lists Settings while /account/settings redirects to Profile, and a 2FA area that stays partly disabled until Authenticator or other factors exist. The deep tour changed nothing and copied no personal fields. Teach the controls. Respect the disabled buttons. Keep credentials out of the journal. When Settings becomes a real distinct page or 3D Avatar ships, update this essay with a new tour date instead of pretending those futures already arrived.

## Change password flow without performing it

The Security page shows new and confirm fields with Change password disabled until the inputs qualify. Fill both fields from a password manager when you rotate. Prefer at least twelve characters with mixed case, digits, and symbols as published How-To security guidance still recommends. Do not reuse Search-era passwords from other sites. Do not paste the new password into Noevik, Chat, or a Document.

If the button stays disabled, check that both fields match and meet complexity rules. If it enables and then errors, capture the error text for support@oernoe.com without capturing the password itself.

## Authenticator setup order

Status: Off and 0 verified factors mean two-factor is not protecting the account yet. Set up under Authenticator. Complete the app pairing on your phone. Only after factors exist should Turn 2FA on and Generate new codes become the buttons you expect. Backup codes 0/10 unused is the empty state before generation. When codes exist, store them offline. Do not photograph them into an unencrypted camera roll shared with other apps casually.

Passkey Add passkey is available for devices that support it. Email code Send test code exercises an email factor path; the tour did not send one. Each factor type is optional until you decide your threat model. Status Off is acceptable only if you accept the risk; it is not a badge of honor.

## Profile picture and bio hygiene

Change Picture if you want a recognizable avatar in Chat friends lists later. Skip 3D Avatar until the editor leaves coming soon. Bio maximum 500 characters — write less. Do not put phone numbers, home addresses, or medical data in Bio. Do not put passwords in Bio. Save Changes only when the preview matches what you intend the network to see.

Full Name and Username are identity anchors. Changing them can confuse friends who search for you in Chat. Change deliberately.

## Billing and Quick Codes as labeled unknowns

Billing and Quick Codes appear in navigation. This tour did not open them deeply. Teach their existence. Do not invent invoices, crypto tickers, or coupon mechanics. If you need billing help, use the Billing page live and support@oernoe.com. If Quick Codes confuse you, leave them unused until a dedicated tour documents them.

## Search History caution

Search History in Account is a personal review surface. Open it on your session only. Do not project it on stage. Do not include query contents in journal screenshots. Search queries are not AdSense input, but they can still be sensitive personal context.

## Background and Account Policy

Background may control visual chrome; the tour did not verify effects. Account Policy holds rules — read it for age, abuse, and rights language. Logout ends the session. Use it.

## Putting the hub to work across products

Before a Docs writing day, confirm you are signed in and Share expectations are sober — coming soon. Before Drive uploads, glance at quota on Drive itself (about 2 GB on the tour). Before Chat requests, confirm Friends/Requests mentality on both Chat and Account Hub. Before trusting AI answers, remember Noevik’s empty reply path on the test prompt. Before Health, accept landing-only truth for now. Before Tracker streaks, remember the check-in permission denied error. Account is the hinge, not the whole door.

## Expanded editorial close

Hub, Profile, and Security are openable today. Settings redirects to Profile. 3D Avatar is coming soon. 2FA is Off until you set factors. Backup codes start at 0/10 unused. Change password stays disabled without valid inputs. Sign out of all devices is ready when incidents happen. Friends, Requests, and Blocked counters sit on Hub empty or not depending on your graph. The Oernoe Editorial Team copied no personal fields and flipped no security switches on 17–18 September 2026. Open the controls. Keep the secrets out of the prose. Revise when Settings stops redirecting or when Avatar ships for real.
