A Results URL Is Still Search

A results URL is still Search.

Wednesday, September 2, 2026, late evening MT. I typed search.oernoe.com as a guest. The public page loaded. Header: Oernoe Search on the left, Sign in on the right. Heading: A little curiosity. A world to find. Search websites, people, and ideas. Under Try a search I could see the chips, including Oernoe and Technology. I did not owe a password to look at that chrome. Then I GET https://search.oernoe.com/results?q=Oernoe. The response was 200. The matched path was /results. The tab title was Search Results - Oernoe Search. The heading was Results for Oernoe. The page said Searching the Oernoe index... I also GET https://search.oernoe.com/results?q=Technology. Same host. Same kind of chrome. Results for Technology. I did not click Sign in. I did not submit a login form. I did not treat the URL as a new product.

This page is on www.oernoe.com. Selected finished pages on this hostname may show Google ads. An ad that shows a search box is not search.oernoe.com. An ad that shows a results list is not /results. If the bar still says www, you are reading Milk. You have not searched. Type the Search host when you want the box.

The panic is simple. People land on /results?q=Oernoe, see Search Results in the tab, and think they have been sent somewhere else. They bookmark the panicked URL. They paste the panicked URL into Chat. They paste it into AI. They paste it into a ticket as if the query string were a receipt. It is still Search. The host did not change. Bookmark the host if you only needed Search. You do not need to keep a leftover results URL unless you actually want that lookup again, and even then the host is the thing that matters.

## The bar is still search.oernoe.com

I will say the letters. search.oernoe.com/results?q=Oernoe. The first label is the host. The path is /results. The query is q=Oernoe. That is a short public query. It is not a people directory. It is not a company dashboard. It is not Account. It is not www.

search.oernoe.com/results?q=Technology is the same shape with a different word. Technology is a short public query. It is not a second search engine. I used those two words because they are the chips I am willing to name tonight. I did not need a third chip to prove the path.

If the bar becomes www.oernoe.com, you left Search. www is the publisher: journal, guides, How-To, company pages. A finished page here may show ads. That is expected for this host. It is not a results page. Do not type a lookup into an ad unit and call it Search. Do not bookmark www because a unit showed Results for something. Open search.oernoe.com.

If the bar becomes account.oernoe.com, you left Search for login. Drive does that bounce on purpose: drive.oernoe.com sends you to Account. Search results do not. A results URL that suddenly became Account is not the GET I made. Stop. Do not type a password into a results tab that is no longer Search.

If the bar becomes a cousin host, a misspelling, a different TLD, or a page that borrowed Results for Oernoe, close it. I fetched search.oernoe.com. That is the host I will teach.

In-app browsers hide the host. A truncated bar that says Results is not enough. Copy. Open a real browser. Confirm search.oernoe.com. If you cannot see the host, you do not bookmark the leftover URL, and you do not paste it.

## Guest results are still guest Search

I loaded results without signing in. The Sign in control was still in the header. I did not click it. You may read results as a guest. You do not owe Account because the tab said Search Results.

If your job is a short public query, this is the whole product for the night. Type search.oernoe.com. Use the box, or use a chip that sends a short public query. Read what comes back. Leave. You do not need to keep the results URL in a password manager. You do not need to pin it over the Search host.

The results chrome still talked like Search. Skip to content. All, Websites, Knowledge. Filters. Sort results, Relevance, A to Z. Search tips on the side: site:example.com, quotes around an exact phrase, Websites and Knowledge, press / outside a field. Results come from websites and knowledge entries in the Oernoe index. Not every page on the web is indexed. That last sentence is on the public Search page too. Results did not become a different promise. The index is still the index. I will not invent a completeness number.

Searching the Oernoe index... is a status line, not a second engine spinning up. If it sits there, wait or refresh the same host. Do not flee to www. Do not flee to Account. Do not paste the URL into AI and ask it to finish the list.

## Bookmark the host, not the panic

A bookmark that points at search.oernoe.com will still be Search tomorrow. A bookmark that points at /results?q=Oernoe will reopen that lookup. That is fine if you wanted that lookup. It is not fine if you panicked and now every new tab dumps you into last night's word.

If you do not need the leftover lookup, do not save it. Type the host next time. The chips will still be there. The box will still be there. Guest will still work.

If you do want the leftover lookup, you can keep the URL. Read it first. Confirm the host is search.oernoe.com. Confirm q= is a short public query you can lose. Confirm you did not accidentally save a login bounce, a Drive bounce, or a www article. Then save it on a machine you own. A library PC bookmark is not yours.

Do not bookmark a results URL from a shared chair and call it your Search. The next person inherits the word you looked up. If the word was harmless, you still taught them your habit. If the word was not a short public query you can lose, you should not have typed it on that chair at all.

Do not put a results URL in a password manager. It is not a secret. Managers that save every GET as a login will later dump a password onto /results because the header still says Sign in. Dismiss that. /results is not /sign-in. I did not open /sign-in for this post.

Do not paste a panicked results URL into Chat. chat.oernoe.com is people. People will click it. People will argue about the list. People will tell you it is not Google and then send you to www. You already have the host.

Do not paste it into AI. A model will invent ranking, ads on Search, and a login wall I did not see on this GET. I fetched /results as a guest. The header had Sign in. That is optional chrome, not a lock on the list.

Do not paste it into a ticket as proof that Search is down. Host, what I opened, what the heading said, time with a timezone. Results for Oernoe. Searching the Oernoe index... Guest. That is enough. The full URL with tracking junk you added yourself is not better.

## www is not a results host

I keep saying this because people start on this journal. They read a how-to. They see an ad. They type into the ad. They land somewhere that is not search.oernoe.com. Then they bookmark that. Then they write to support that Search moved.

Search did not move. Search is search.oernoe.com. Results are /results on that host. This journal is www.oernoe.com. Guides and How-To live on the publisher. Products live on their own hostnames. I did not see Search results rendered as the body of www tonight, and I am not going to pretend an ad unit is the index.

If you followed a link from this page and the bar became Search, good. Read the host. If q= is a word you did not type, you followed someone else's query. You may read it as a guest. You do not have to bookmark it. You do not have to sign in to dismiss it.

If you followed a link from this page and the bar stayed on www, you are still in the publisher. Ads may be here. Continue on an ad is not a chip. Sign in on an ad is not Search's header Sign in.

mail.oernoe.com, news.oernoe.com, and app.oernoe.com did not resolve. There is no results URL on those names. A bookmark that points at a host with no DNS is not Search. Delete it. Type search.oernoe.com.

status.oernoe.com is status. support.oernoe.com is tickets. account.oernoe.com is the one account. None of those are /results. Do not file a status incident because your leftover results bookmark felt stale. Open the Search host and look again, as a guest, with a short public query.

## Shared chairs make leftover URLs worse

If the chair is not yours, do not bookmark /results. Do not leave the tab open. A results page is a record of the word you typed. The next person can read the heading. Results for Oernoe is mild. Other words are not. Use a short public query you can lose, or use nothing. Close the tab.

If you already have a leftover results tab on a filthy chair, do not recover by signing in. Sign in is how you attach the one account to that chair. Close the tab. Later, on a machine you own, type the Search host yourself.

If the chair is yours, you may keep a results URL for a lookup you actually repeat. You still should not pin it over the host. The host is the product. The query string is last time's word.

## Tickets are host and heading, not a ranking essay

If results looked empty, say so without a fake count. I will not give you a number of hits. Searching the Oernoe index... was on the page I fetched. Not every page on the web is indexed was on the page I fetched. That is the honest limit. A ticket that claims Search is down because one word did not return a page you wanted is a ranking complaint, not an outage. Host: search.oernoe.com. Path: /results. q=Oernoe or q=Technology. Guest. Time with a timezone. Heading: Results for Oernoe, or Results for Technology. What I did not do: sign in, paste into Chat, paste into AI.
