I'm tired of homepages that read like a warehouse catalog. Oernoe has done that too. You land on the site and it feels like we shipped twelve products before breakfast. We didn't.
This is the August 2026 version. What you can open today. What you should ignore until it stops being a teaser.
## The set that is actually on the homepage
Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Tracker. One account. That's the useful list.
Search: https://search.oernoe.com
Health: https://health.oernoe.com
Chat: https://chat.oernoe.com
AI: https://ai.oernoe.com
Docs: https://docs.oernoe.com
Drive: https://drive.oernoe.com
Tracker: https://tracker.oernoe.com
If a page promises Music, Mail, Studio, Maps, or Alerts as if they were the same kind of live as Search, slow down. Some of those have journal posts. Some have waitlists. Some had dates we already missed. I'm not going to recycle those dates here.
## Search is the front door
If you just showed up, start with Search. It's the thing most people can judge in five minutes. Type the queries you already type. See if the links are good enough. See if the page is quieter than the one you're leaving.
You can often try the box without creating an account. Do that first. Sign up when you want files, Health notes, or Chat, not because a homepage tile made you feel late.
We built Search so queries aren't used to build an ad profile. I will not tell you the results are better than Google. Run your own mix. If Google wins a shopping query, that's allowed. You can still send the medical query here.
The marketing site may show ads; Search is built not to turn queries into ad profiles. Details: https://www.oernoe.com/legal/privacy. Don't confuse the brochure tab with the search tab.
## Health, Chat, and AI are not Search with a skin
Health is a place for health-shaped notes and information. Treat it like something a roommate could see if you leave the tab open. I'm not going to invent a feature list I haven't clicked through this morning. It is not an emergency room. If you are in danger, use local emergency services.
Chat is messaging. If you wanted "private Slack," lower the pitch. It's a conversation tool with account controls. Use it if you want that. Don't use it as proof that the whole company is invisible. Skip it on week one if nobody you talk to is there.
AI is for drafts, summaries, planning, the usual. Don't paste secrets into it just because the logo says Oernoe. Clear the prompt if you wouldn't put the same text in an email. Fluent and wrong still happens.
## Docs and Drive
Docs is the writing surface. Drive is the files. If you've used any other suite, you already know the shape. The point of putting them on one account is so you aren't inventing a fourth password for a school paper.
I'm not going to claim we beat Google Docs. I will say: if you want the file next to the search box, that's the idea.
Name a Drive folder something boring. Upload one pile you already need. Don't drag your whole life in on day one. Sharing a link is as serious as sending the file. Look at the control that is actually there. I will not invent the dialog labels.
## Tracker
When something feels down, open Tracker before you tweet. Status pages exist so we don't have to guess in five group chats. If Tracker is quiet and your tab is broken, say which URL and which browser. "Oernoe is down" is not a report.
Open it once while things are fine, so the healthy view is familiar.
## How I'd spend the first hour
Create the account if you still want more than Search. Don't hunt for a credit card. There isn't a surprise checkout for joining. Use a unique password. A manager if you can stand one.
Do three searches you actually care about. Open Tracker once so you know where it lives. If you write, put one doc in Docs. If you don't write, skip it. Health can wait until you have something to put there.
Then stop. You don't need to onboard all seven tiles. That's how people bounce.
## What I won't do in this post
I won't promise launch weeks for Mail or Music. We already have posts that did that. Some of them aged badly.
I won't say we have millions of users. I don't have that number, and I'm not going to decorate this page with one.
I won't tell you the journal is ad-free. You're on a page that can serve ads.
## If you already have an account
You don't need a new one for each service. That's the whole "one account" line, said without a diagram.
If a service isn't in your switcher yet, it may not be live for you. That's different from "we announced it in March." Announcements are cheap. Hosts you can open are not.
## A note on the thin posts already on this journal
We've published short items that read like headlines. I'm trying to stop doing that. This piece is supposed to be the map so those stubs don't have to pretend they're the map.
If you came from the homepage cards, the longer privacy pieces are already up: tracking in 2026, a tools list, and a Google / DuckDuckGo / Oernoe comparison. Those are journal essays. This one is the "what do I click" page.
Start with Search. Leave the rest until you need it. That's the August version.
## Hostnames, because people bookmark the wrong thing
The public site is www.oernoe.com. That's the brochure, the journal, the legal pages. Search is not hiding in a menu forever. It's on its own host. If you bookmark the brochure and wonder why you can't type a query, that's why.
Same idea for the others. Chat is not a widget inside the blog. Drive is not a folder on the About page. I know that sounds insulting. I still see people stuck on /blog looking for an upload button.
If a bookmark from last spring 404s, don't assume the company vanished. We move tiles. Check the homepage list, then Tracker.
## Premium, money, and what I can actually say
Account creation is free. Some things may ask for money later. I don't have a price sheet in front of me and I'm not going to invent one. If a screen asks for a card, read it. If it doesn't, don't go hunting for a hidden checkout. That hunt is how people get phished.
## Services that keep showing up in older posts
Studio, Mail, Music, News, Maps, OerAlerts. You'll find them in the archive. Treat those posts as history unless you can open the product and do the thing the post describes. A waitlist is not a product. A March launch date in a June apology is also not a product.
I'm not deleting those posts today. I'm telling you they are not the August core.
## If you help someone else sign up
Sit with them for the password. Don't let them reuse the Facebook one. Show them Search first, not the whole grid. The grid makes people feel late to a party they didn't want to attend.
If they only wanted a quieter search box, they can leave after that. That's a success.
## The one-paragraph version
August 2026: Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Tracker. One account. Start at Search. Use Tracker when something feels off. Read older journal posts with a date in your head.
If that's all you needed, you can stop here.
## A week if you want a slower start
Monday: Search only. Twenty real queries. Write down the duds.
Tuesday: the account, if you still want files or Health. Unique password.
Wednesday: Drive, one folder. Thursday: one Docs page. Friday: ask AI to outline that page, then edit it yourself.
Saturday: Chat only if someone agreed to try it. Sunday: Health, only what you would show on a cafe screen, then Tracker once.
You cannot usefully do all seven in an hour. People who try leave with seven empty rooms.
