The title is a poster: stream, share, discover. The old body repeated itself, bolded Leaderboard and Artist Dashboard, and said recommendations were local or aggregated so they wouldn’t tie back to you. It said early access twice.
August 2026. I kept the slug. I am not keeping the poster voice.
music.oernoe.com is a real host. It has sent me to login. Status has listed Music. The homepage set I will defend as everyday products is still Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Tracker. Music is optional. Optional is allowed to be interesting. It is not allowed to lie.
I do not have a catalog size. I do not have a listener count. I will not write “millions of songs.”
## Stream, if the file starts
Streaming means the song begins without you downloading a career. If you log in and a track plays in the browser, that part of the title is true for that track. If nothing plays, the title is ahead of the product.
Use headphones you already own. I will not sell you quality words. I will not name a bitrate I have not seen.
Don’t leave a tab playing on a shared machine. The next person gets your library and maybe your account.
If playback stutters, try a private window, then another network, then support@oernoe.com with the track URL and the time. “Music is bad” is a mood.
## Share, if the URL works
Sharing means a link. Not a screenshot of a waveform. Copy the URL. Open it where you are not logged in. If it demands an account, say that when you send it. People will not create an account for a thirty-second courtesy play. Some will. Most won’t.
Don’t share a track you don’t have rights to. Don’t share a private demo as public and then argue with a scraper.
Artists: read the sister post about uploads. Listeners: don’t rip a file and call it backup culture on a small host. We notice when a catalog is empty because someone treated us like a mirror.
## Discover, without a personality quiz
Discovery, on a small host, is usually search, a list, and whatever a friend sent you. That is enough to start.
If you see genres, use them. If you see a leaderboard, remember it is a contest. If you see “for you,” ask what it used. I will not reprint “on-device only.” I cannot see your device from here.
Search on music.oernoe.com, if it exists, is not the same as search.oernoe.com. One is a web index. One is a catalog box. Don’t get mad at web Search because a song title missed. Don’t get mad at Music because a medical query missed.
You can also discover music the old way: a URL from a person. That still works when charts are empty.
## What I will not claim about privacy and taste
We do not sell account information. We do not provide account or search data to advertisers for their own direct marketing. Search is built not to turn web queries into ad profiles. Listening, if it is stored, is account data. It should not become a second ad business. If that sentence ever changes in the policy, the policy wins: https://www.oernoe.com/legal/privacy
The journal may show ads. That is www.oernoe.com.
I will not say we never log a play. Libraries have to remember a song to show it to you tomorrow.
## Early access, said without a party
Early access means you will find missing buttons and odd empty states. It means a small team. It does not mean you agreed to be a beta tester in a legal sense unless a screen said so. It does not mean you owe us a playlist.
If Music is down and Status is green, say that in the ticket. We need the probe. If Music is down and Status is red, you can still go use Search. Your day does not have to wait on a preview.
## How this title trained the homepage to look like a warehouse
Stream, share, discover — plus Mail, plus News, plus Maps, plus Alerts — is how a company looks busy. Busy homepages make people feel late. You are not late. Search works without a soundtrack.
I want Music pages to sound like a player, not like a launch week. This rewrite is part of that.
## Devices and apps
Mobile browser. Home-screen shortcut if you want. No official app I will send you to. Lookalike store listings are hostile.
Cars and TVs are someone else’s problem until we say otherwise.
Studio is image and video in the build I saw. It will not mix your album. Docs will not either.
## A listener hour that isn’t a funnel
Log in. Search one artist you already like. If they aren’t there, search a second. If the catalog is empty for you, leave. You did not fail onboarding.
If a song plays, favorite it only if a favorite control exists and you would like to find it tomorrow. Don’t favorite twenty tracks to feed a system I will not swear exists.
Then close the tab. Tomorrow, see if the favorite is still there. That is the product test. Not a mood quiz.
## Artists reading a listener post
You can share a URL. You cannot demand a chart. You cannot demand we pretend a preview is a store. Keep your distributor.
## Closing
Stream when it plays. Share when the link works signed out, or admit it doesn’t. Discover with search and friends before you trust a board. August 2026 is a host and a login, not a poster. The poster can stay in the URL. The player has to do the rest, or we should stop using these three verbs in a row.
## Queues, favorites, and the myth of a perfect taste file
If you can queue a next song, good. If you cannot, you have a single-track player. Call it that. Don’t call it a station.
Favorites are a list you will forget to clean. Clean them when a song starts to embarrass you. I will not give you a wellness speech about it.
I do not know whether we keep a full listen history. I will not say we don’t. If settings ever show a history clear, use it when you want. If they don’t, assume a server can remember plays for library features and for abuse.
## Sharing etiquette that isn’t cute
Don’t drop a twenty-track dump into a Chat with someone who asked for one song.
Don’t use Music as proof that the whole company is “for creators.” The company is also a search box and a journal that may show ads.
Don’t yell at an artist in comments, if comments exist, because a preview buffered. Write a ticket if the host failed. Write the artist if you liked the song.
## When the poster should come down
If six months from now the host still cannot play a file I can name, this title should change the way the Mail title changed. I will do that when the facts force it. Today the host answers. That is the line I am standing on. Playing is the line you should stand on. If play fails for you, you are right and the poster is wrong.
