August 2026. I do not have an official Play Store listing I will send you to. I do not have a mid-2026 beta I can point at. An April post on this journal named June–July. That window closed. A second post already said so at length. This slug was the feature-list twin: account sync, voice search, offline reading, “doesn’t track your behaviour.” I am rewriting it as a phone guide for the site that does exist.

## What you can do on a phone today
Open https://search.oernoe.com in the browser you already use.
Type there. Click a result. Leave.
Add a home-screen shortcut if you want an icon. In Chrome that is the menu, then Add to Home screen / Add to Home. The icon is a door, not a store binary.
You can often search signed out. Sign in if you want the rest of the account. You do not need a native app to have an account. The same login works in a mobile browser for Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, Tracker.
## What Chrome will not do for you
Chrome on Android is stingy about custom search engines. Many people cannot point the address bar at an arbitrary URL the way they can on a computer.
So the address bar may stay on Google even if you love us. That is Chrome. Live with two boxes or change browsers.
If you use Firefox for Android, you can often add a search shortcut:

Set it as default there if you want one bar. Brave and some others still expose a similar control. If your only browser is locked school Chrome, the shortcut is the honest default.
Do not fight an admin policy with a ticket to us. We cannot override your school.

If you are signed in on the web, preferences can already follow the account without a store binary. I will not invent a history opt-in I have not just clicked.
Voice: your keyboard already has a microphone. Use that in the site if you want. I will not announce a special recognizer.
Offline: your browser may save a page. That is the browser. It is not an Oernoe offline mode I can document.
Privacy: the sentence I will stand on is the policy sentence. Search is built not to turn queries into ad profiles. We do not sell search history. We do not provide account or search data to advertisers for their own direct marketing. We may still receive technical data to run the service and stop abuse. A future app would not delete IP addresses from the universe. A webview does not either.
“Doesn’t track your behaviour” is bigger than the policy. I will not reprint it.
## Do not install a lookalike
If you search the Play Store for our name and find a listing that wants SMS, contacts, or a password on a page that is not oernoe.com, that is how people donate accounts.
Type the host yourself. Official surfaces live under oernoe.com. Staff will not ask you to sideload a random APK from a comment.
I will not claim a store search result. Store search is personalization theater. If you do not see an official listing from us, assume there is not one you should install.
## iPhone readers who landed here anyway
This slug says Android. The honest iPhone path is the same web host and a Safari bookmark or home-screen add. I will not start an iOS countdown to keep the Android one company.
## Why an app is still a reasonable want
A keyboard from the home screen. A share target. Maybe a widget. Maybe default-engine status that Chrome refuses to give a website.
Those are real. They are also how companies grow a second surface: push tokens, extra permissions, a rating prompt every month.
If we build the app later, I want it to be a thin door to Search, not a new product family in your notification tray. Search does not need your contacts. I do not have screenshots. I will not mock up a phone. I will not pick a month.

Homepage: do not imply a store icon next to Search.
Support: there is an Apps category. The library was empty when I looked. An Apps tile will not save you. Write support@oernoe.com with phone model, browser, URL, and what the mobile site did. Do not write “the app is missing” as if you had installed one.
