Two public sentences have to stay true at once on Oernoe. The first is a fetch contract on www.oernoe.com: the live robots.txt allows Google’s ads crawlers across the publisher site. The second is a Search limit: Oernoe Search does not use queries to build advertising profiles. Confusing those sentences is how a reader invents a story the documents refuse. This essay is privacy and Search-limits writing about the pair. It is not a remake of the Allow-all-except-/api/-and-/debug/ essay. That hinge already covers crawl honesty on the wildcard rules. It is not a remake of the robots-txt-as-politeness essay. The hinge here is narrower: ads bots are Allowed on the publisher on purpose, and that Allow does not license Search to profile queries.

## What the live robots.txt actually allows

A guest fetch of https://oernoe.com/robots.txt on 8 September 2026 returned a short file. Mediapartners-Google is Allowed across the site. Google-Display-Ads-Bot is Allowed across the site. The ordinary user-agent is Allowed across the site, with Disallow only for /api/ and /debug/. The file declares Host as https://www.oernoe.com and points discovery at the public listing of URLs the company claims to publish. Those are the only ads-bot names this essay will use, because those are the only ads-bot names the live file shows. Inventing extra bot strings is how a journal page stops being checkable.

What we publish ends with a matching mechanical check: robots.txt should allow Google’s ads crawlers. That sentence is not a side note. Eligible inventory lives on finished How-To, finished guides, and substantial journal articles that still pass originality and length checks. Ads crawlers need to fetch those documents to evaluate them. Blocking ads crawlers while asking to join a publisher network would be theater: ask for review, then refuse the fetch that review requires. Allowing Mediapartners-Google and Google-Display-Ads-Bot is therefore part of publisher honesty, not a loophole that quietly turns Search into an ad-profile machine.

Corrections, updated 26 August 2026, already told the older robots story that forced the current shape. robots.txt used to disallow paths with a trailing slash for application shells. The live routes were the bare paths. Google could fetch the bare URLs, which rendered as near-empty shells. The fix is the opposite of blocking more paths. Shells now send X-Robots-Tag noindex, nofollow. robots.txt only disallows /api/ and /debug/, so a crawler can fetch the URL and honour the header. Ads crawlers sit inside that corrected Allow design. They are not a second secret file.

## What Privacy actually says about ads on www

Privacy Policy section 1 is blunt about scope. Advertising disclosures apply to selected publisher pages on www.oernoe.com. They do not mean that advertising is enabled on Chat, Drive, Docs, Health, Tracker, Account, login screens, or other application surfaces. Section 3 states the Search-side deal in plain language: Oernoe does not sell account information or search history; Oernoe does not use search history to create advertising profiles; Oernoe does not provide account or search data to advertisers for their own direct marketing.

Section 4 names where AdSense may appear on www: selected substantial publisher pages, including How-To, How Oernoe Search works, Search queries and Google ads, Using an Oernoe account, What we publish, Which Oernoe hostname does what, Corrections we have already made, How a privacy request is handled, and substantial journal articles. AdSense is not loaded on the homepage, About, login or signup screens, protected application pages, legal pages, error pages, the journal index, short or promotional journal posts, the guides index, editorial standards, or Oernoe service subdomains. Ads on this site are requested as non-personalized by default. Google and its advertising partners may still process page context, cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, and ad interaction data to serve, secure, limit, and measure advertisements. Oernoe does not receive a copy of a visitor’s complete browsing history from Google.

Cookie Policy repeats the inventory map and adds the verification detail that ads.txt at the site root names pub-9477175344230263, and that pages may carry a google-adsense-account meta tag so Google can verify the publisher even when a given URL has no unit. The cookie bar is a notice, not a consent management platform. Dismissing it with OK only hides the bar. Search queries typed at search.oernoe.com are not an input to those units.

Read those paragraphs next to robots.txt and the pair stops looking mysterious. Ads bots are Allowed so they can evaluate eligible inventory that Privacy already limited. Allowing a fetch of Home or About does not place a unit there. Allowing a fetch of a noindexed shell does not monetize the shell. The fetch contract and the inventory map are different tools. Crawl honesty keeps both readable instead of stuffing inventory policy into Disallow lines.

## What How Search works refuses to do with queries

How Oernoe Search works is the Search-side document. Ranking treats every search equally rather than incorporating a search-history advertising profile. The guide’s privacy section is explicit: no profiling of interests based on searches; each search processed independently; search queries are not used to build an advertising profile; technical and security logs needed to run Search are not a license to sell query history to advertisers; Oernoe Search does not use click or dwell signals to build an advertising profile. Search queries stay with Search. Oernoe does not sell Search queries or account data to advertisers.

The funding answer in that guide matches About and Privacy without collapsing hosts. Oernoe uses optional premium features and contextual Google ads on selected publisher pages. Search queries are not sold or used to build advertising profiles. Ads on a publisher guide are disclosed in the Privacy and Cookie policies. That is a different system from Search. A reviewer who wants one slogan for the whole network will be disappointed. A reviewer who wants two checkable systems will find the split already printed.

Crawler behavior in the same guide stays ordinary. Continuous crawling means the work runs around the clock. Respecting robots means honouring robots.txt files and crawl rate limits set by website owners. Privacy-first crawl claims say the company does not harvest personal data during crawling as advertising lists. Ranking uses content relevance, authority, links, freshness, aggregated satisfaction signals, mobile-friendliness, and page speed. Notice what is not on the list: search history, location, device type, age, interests, or other personal data as an advertising profile. Search honouring other people’s robots files is neighbor behavior. The publisher publishing a short robots file that Allows ads bots is self-description of inventory evaluation. Neither sentence turns Search queries into ad-unit input.

## Why Allowed ads bots do not equal query profiling

The confusion usually starts with a single word: Google. Google’s ads crawlers appear in robots.txt. Google AdSense may load on eligible www pages. Google may process advertising data under its own policies when a unit is served. None of that is a claim that Oernoe Search builds advertising profiles from queries. Privacy section 3 and How Search works already refuse that claim. About’s promise section refuses it again: Oernoe does not sell account or search data, and does not use search history to build advertising profiles. Selected publisher pages on www.oernoe.com may show Google ads.

The zero-tracking correction is the public warning about collapsing those systems. Older homepage and product copy talked as if the whole Oernoe network had no ads, no cookies, and no third parties. That was false once this publisher site applied for Google AdSense. Search still does not use queries as an advertising file. Selected finished pages on www.oernoe.com may show Google ads, and Google may process page context, cookies, IP address, and device data on those pages. Both sentences have to be true at once. Allowing Mediapartners-Google and Google-Display-Ads-Bot is how the publisher stays fetchable for the ad half of that honest split. Refusing to profile Search queries is how the Search half stays honest. Pretending Allow equals profiling is how the correction has to be written again.

Product truth still sits on the homepage. www.oernoe.com is the public publisher: journal, guides, How-To, company pages, and legal. Search lives at search.oernoe.com. Login lives at account.oernoe.com. The live Services list sends people to Search, Health, Chat, AI, Docs, Drive, and Tracker. Unreleased product routes are not sold as joinable homepage products. About says that if a page here disagrees with the homepage directory, the homepage is the one to trust until the page is fixed. robots.txt is not how you make an unfinished route look finished. Allowing ads bots to fetch eligible documents is how you stop inventory evaluation from being a secret handshake.

## What a careful reader should verify

Fetch robots.txt and read it end to end. Confirm Mediapartners-Google and Google-Display-Ads-Bot are Allowed. Confirm the wildcard Allow. Confirm Disallow only for /api/ and /debug/. Confirm Host points at https://www.oernoe.com. Open Privacy sections 1, 3, and 4 and read the www-only ads scope next to the no-sale and no-search-history-profile sentences. Open Cookies for the eligible-page list and the notice-not-consent bar. Open How Search works for ranking without advertising profiles, funding through optional premium plus contextual ads on selected publisher pages, and robots respect as Search-side neighbor behavior. Open What we publish for the closing mechanical check that ads crawlers should be Allowed. Open Corrections if you need the older trailing-slash robots miss and the zero-tracking entry that forced the honest split into public language.

Do not invent extra ads-bot names beyond the live file. Do not invent crawl volume numbers. Do not invent index sizes. Do not invent user counts. Do not treat an Allowed ads bot as proof that every www URL loads a unit. Do not treat a unit on an eligible guide as proof that Search sold a query. Do not treat a short robots file as a privacy policy. The robots file is a fetch contract. Privacy is the inventory and rights map. How Search works is the ranking and query rule.

## Ownership and the refusal list

Public writing is issued as Oernoe Editorial Team unless a person is named. The company is Anoepal. The founder is Angel Mejia Rodriguez. Product claims get checked against the homepage. Policy claims get checked against Privacy, Cookies, and Terms. If those sources disagree, the article loses. There is no separate newsroom. If a page here is wrong, the correction is Angel’s problem. Editorial complaints go to hello@oernoe.com with a URL. Privacy rights requests go to privacy@oernoe.com. Support goes to support@oernoe.com. Legal goes to legal@oernoe.com.

This essay refuses to invent a second robots philosophy. It refuses to invent Disallow lines that are not there. It refuses to invent a claim that Allowing ads bots places units on Home, About, legal pages, or apps. It refuses to invent a claim that Search profiles queries because ads bots can fetch www. It trusts the live sources: Mediapartners-Google and Google-Display-Ads-Bot are Allowed on the publisher on purpose; Privacy keeps AdSense on selected substantial www pages and keeps Search history out of advertising profiles; How Search works keeps queries with Search; and the two systems stay honest only when both sentences stay printed.

Ads bots are allowed on the publisher. Search still does not profile queries. A reviewer who wants one collapsed slogan will keep looking. A reviewer who wants checkable documents will find the pair already public.
